Irene Dawson is a graduate of Fordham University and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Irene works with adults, utilizing interdisciplinary techniques to address anxiety and depression, as well as life transitions such as illness, addiction, relationship difficulties and workplace issues. She embraces a Mindful Self-compassionate approach that helps people think compassionately about their own struggles, which spreads to all others in their path. Irene has experience in crisis counseling, individual therapy, substance abuse, parenting and group work and has training in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Internal Family Systems and Strength Based Positive Psychology. She has worked in community mental health and substance abuse agencies as well as educational settings. Irene’s goal in working with people is to assist them in their journey toward a more fulfilling life experience.
